Mulberry’s Bryn is one of their newest styles and exactly what we want for Christmas! Only trouble is we can’t decide what colour to choose!
Emma Hill, Mulberry’s Creative Director said she was inspired by the films the Grey Gardens and the Secret Garden for the latest Ready-To-Wear show held in Claridges on Sunday.
This was apparent as soon as you approached the ballroom as there were bushes guarding the entrance with beautiful flowers peeking out. Moving through intricately detailed illustrated brick wall you found yourself in Mulberry’s very own Secret Garden with huge coral flowers strewn around the catwalk with the illustrated wall being used as a backdrop with panels of even more coral flowers.
The fashion was a definite nod to Seventies style – ladylike and sophisticated but with a fun and playful edge. High waisted skirts, pussy bow blouses and Bianca Jagger style jumpsuits featured heavily.
The bag everyone’s frothing about though? A new style called Tillie in denim in the brands pre-collection. We’re adding ourselves to the wait list!

There are a great many stories about Princess Margaret and fashion so it is only fitting that Mulberry is sticking to their British themed design guns in their Autumn/Winter collection this year with the introduction of the Margaret family; bags, clothes and accessories named after the Queen’s youngest sister.
We are thinking the inspiration comes from the exhibition staged at Kensington Palace in 2007 entitled “Princess Line – The Fashion Legacy of Princess Margaret” which showcased contemporary fashion from British designers such as the 2006 Burberry collection from Christopher Bailey’s Burberry and Vivienne Westwood.
Whilst the styling is classic there are quirky details which mirror the Princess’ sense of humour; a regal looking plaque which on closer inspection reveals the adorable motto “We belive in tea and cake” along with teapots, cupcakes and English Bulldogs!
The range starts with a small clutch that is Mulberry’s signature fold over style with a cute teapot charm and a perfect size to hold all the essentials for a night out. The shoulder bag comes in two different sizes (mini and standard) with envelope style flap closure and a key trend for the season, a leather and chain strap.
There is more to this strap than meets the eye however as it can be tucked into the main compartment of the bag so you can use it as a clutch. We love this detail and gives the bag dual purpose. Multitasking at its best!
As usual Mulberry have picked the perfect hues for the time of year with each bag style available in a rich, deep Grape suede, vibrant pebbled Plum or Black matte leather with the mini bag also available in a luxurious drizzle grey ostrich leather.
Along with the two bags you can also purchase a small and standard “zip around”(purse and make-up bag to you and me!), dress in neon “Loopy Leopard” print with shoulder epaulets and a draped back and bracelet.
You may not be a Princess but now there’s no excuse not to dress like one! All are available now at mulberry.com
